The Hutchinson Touareg Race GridSkin is designed for gravel racers who regularly tackle rocky, sharp and unpredictable terrain where puncture protection is just as important as speed. To help prevent race-ending sidewall damage, Hutchinson has brought its proven GridSkin technology, previously used in its road tire range, to gravel riding for the very first time.
The innovative GridSkin reinforcement uses a knitted mesh layer integrated into the sidewall construction, providing targeted protection against cuts and tears while maintaining the lightweight and responsive characteristics expected from a modern race tire.
Unlike traditional heavy-duty reinforcements, GridSkin adds minimal weight and has very little impact on rolling resistance, allowing riders to enjoy increased durability without sacrificing performance.
The tire also features Hutchinson's proven Mach Tread 3.0 compound, the same high-rebound racing compound used on the standard Touareg Race, delivering excellent grip, speed and efficiency across a wide range of gravel conditions.
The distinctive black-speckled tan sidewall finish highlights the technical GridSkin construction and gives the tire a unique appearance.
