Elvedes is a Dutch family-owned company founded in 1965 by Lourens van der Spruijt with the goal of supplying moped and bicycle parts to local bike shops. The company name is derived from the founder’s initials: L-V-D-S → El-ve-des.
In the early years, the company mainly supplied moped-related parts, but they quickly recognized the growing demand for longer control cables, which soon became their core business. From 1977 onwards, Elvedes specialized exclusively in the production and distribution of mechanical control cables, first for two-wheelers and later for other industries as well.
Over the years, Elvedes gradually expanded its product range and today operates as an international aftermarket supplier with a strong presence across Europe and worldwide.
